Our June issue is all about fashion. We start off with a video of the eccentrically classic Ralph Lauren 2011 Spring Collection.

Next we have videos and slideshows from designers and creators of handmade fashions:
  • Bedford Falls Headwear
  • The May Flower
  • Gabs Bags
Our featured photographer for June is Mike Baird. His Mindwalk slideshow offers captivating photos of seals, sea otters, birds, flowers and even a few humans.

Also on the menu is a slideshow of my custom products. You can order any product personalized with your name, monogram, logo, family crest, Scottish clan, or shop or business name. My fine-art paintings are shown in a Fine Art America slideshow.

See how much you know about slideshows by taking the HubPages Flickr Slideshow Quiz. Click on the link at the bottom of the quiz to check out my how-to article, Create Flickr Slideshows.

Shop and studio links have been added to our recommendations. Our goal is to make online shopping and art-collecting easier and safer for you. All the shops and studios we recommend have earned a Good to Excellent rating from the Web Of Trust (

Let the fashion show begin!

REVISED 5/2/11:

Our May issue offers videos and slideshows of handmade jewelry, as well as a five-part video documentary of one of the most famous jewelers of modern times, Peter Carl Faberge.

Our present-day jewelers have online shops called Finding Charm, Noble Gnome, Nachnaabichhoo, and The Bracelets Shop.

In addition, we have a slideshow of Herons & Egrets by the nature photographer Marlin Harms.

Through the newsletter, Daily Designer News, we were led to two videos on cutting-edge design and manufacturing technology. These videos may be found at the top of the solid-blue background section of this issue.

As earlier announced, we've reorganized the handmade shops into categories for the shopping convenience of our reader/viewers.

Add on a few new display ads and slideshows and you have the May issue, which I hope you will enjoy. Please feel free to leave comments. And, by all means, subscribe by email to Art-Online, so that you'll know when a new issue of Art-Online hits the screen.

If you want your work to show up in blogs and e-zines, you can increase your chances by creating your own videos and slideshows.

No doubt, many of you are "old hands" with such technology. But for those who aren't, may I suggest using Animoto for short videos with music and Flickr for slideshows.

Bloggers are always looking for interesting and entertaining material that they can show in their blogs. Once you have a professional video or slideshow, you can query them to see if they'd like to run yours. As an incentive, perhaps you could offer a discount in your shop or studio.

Animoto videos are free and have background music. You may want to make more than one video, so that you'll have a variety of background music. Bloggers will have their own taste in music, and you don't want them to reject your video just because of the music that accompanies it.

For Flickr slideshows, you'll need to become a Pro member, which costs under $30 a year. You can create a slideshow of all the photos you've uploaded to your studio, aka photostream. Or you can create sets and show slideshows of the sets.

There are other ways to create videos and slideshows, but Animoto and Flickr are two easy ones. If you have experience creating videos and slideshows, you're invited to leave comments.

For the convenience of visitors, today I divided the links for Handmade Shops into separate categories, e.g., Handmade Jewelry, Handmade Candles, Handmade Decor.

Those whose shops are listed in the Handmade links can check to see that they are in the proper category or categories. Please let me know if any adjustments need to be made. I'll be glad to make them!
